Easy & quick installation
At only 17.5kg, this is a very light inverter. As a result, the installation also requires only one installer. After physical installation, the integrated user interface can be directly accessed by appropriate devices, such as a smartphone or laptop. Thus, this does not require opening the housing.
Shadefix
Shadefix makes the Sunny Boy 5.0-1AV-41 suitable for installations in lightly to moderately shaded environments. No other parts are needed in this process. Normally, cells that are partially or fully covered by shade will perform less, thereby pulling down the performance of the entire panel. This inverter will bypass these lower performing cells, reducing power loss.
SMA Smart Connected
SMA has a fully automatic system which monitors connected and logged-in inverters – SMA Smart Connected. When the installation of the Sunny Boy 5.0-1AV-41 is complete, it can be registered for the system. If an anomaly is subsequently detected, both the customer and the installer will be notified. The installer can then respond to this immediately. At the time a replacement inverter is needed, SMA will deliver it within 1 to 3 days of observation.
