This SolarEdge 3PH Inverter, 30kW, is rated for a maximum input voltage of 1000V. This variant comes with a safety unit. The safety unit includes a DC switch. The inverter further uses MC4 plugs, has active cooling using a fan and comes to a noise level of 62 dBA. The device includes two RS485 connections and one Ethernet connection built in. In addition, Wi-Fi is possible provided a separate antenna is used.
Communications
In addition to the integrated RS485 and Ethernet connections, connection can be made via wifi. This does require the purchase of a separate antenna. Then the SetApp mobile application can be used to perform commissioning via a local connection. For example, with a certain particular card that can be connected, mobile networks can also be connected. Monitoring is further possible at the panel level, providing visibility of the entire PV system.
Security
Both leakage current and arc protection are integrated. Leakage currents and electric arcs both occur to varying degrees, but are harmless in most cases. Once a person comes into contact with the system and there is a damaging leakage current, the detection will cause the system to shut down automatically. This shutdown is also the case with dangerous electric arcs. Once these are potentially harmful, the device will shut itself down completely.
For AC/DC segregation of AC and DC, the inverter has a physical separation, in the form of a partition.
Safety unit
Included is a safety unit. This unit is attached to the bottom of the inverter. This adds a two-pole switch to the system, where the entire circuit behind the switch can be de-energized. This is because both the neutral and phase wires are interrupted.
The SolarEdge 3PH Inverter, 30kW, has a Type 2 SPD (Surge Protection Device) on both AC and DC sides. This prevents overvoltage, such as from lightning strikes.
