The Fronius Tauro ECO 50-3-Precombined is a three-phase 50 kW commercial PV inverter designed for central DC architectures. The inverter operates on 380/220 V or 400/230 V grids and delivers up to 50 kVA, with an operating current around 72-76 A. It synchronizes within 45-65 Hz and supports an adjustable power factor for grid management functions.
On the DC side, the device supports up to 1000 V input voltage and operates within an MPP range of about 580-930 V. The ECO variant has one MPP tracker, so the connected strings should be uniform in orientation and voltage. The recommended PV size is around 75 kWp. Overvoltage protection type 1+2 for both AC and DC is integrated.
The thermal design consists of active cooling and a double-walled IP65 enclosure, which allows the inverter to run at full power for long periods even at high outdoor temperatures. The device is suitable for outdoor installation and operates between -40 and +60 °C.
Communication is via Ethernet, WiFi, RS485 and Modbus, with an integrated data logger and web server for monitoring and grid control. Mechanically, it is a robust unit of ~74 kg that can be mounted horizontally or vertically.
